Thriller Movies like Memories of Murder, Ichi the Killer, The Chaser, Se7en, Parasite. Given all the good things I've heard about it, I'm convinced that I overlooked the aspects of this movie that make it so loved and acclaimed. I plan on re-watching this movie, but first I want to gain some insight from people who really enjoy and appreciate it. It was frustrating to watch them grasp at straws and realize over and over again that they had the wrong guy. To me, they seemed like incompetent bullies (with the exception of Tae-yoon Seo) from the get-go, and I remember thinking that I would have been very surprised if they actually managed to catch the killer. The humor was entertaining and the mystery was fairly gripping, but I had a hard time empathizing and connecting with the main characters. Granted, I am on a fair amount of medication from a recent surgery and have been feeling light-headed and generally out of it lately. But I have to say that I was very underwhelmed when it was over. I have seen/heard nothing but high praise for it, with many even claiming that it's their favorite movie of all time. I finally got around to watching this movie last night after it was sitting on my list for a long time.
